For more than 35 years I’ve kept a sketchpad close at hand, drawing primarily on location. Sometimes I add color on the spot; other times I complete the work back in the studio. I’m drawn to the immediacy of this way of working—the mix of challenge, observation, and spontaneity is endlessly satisfying.
